Whistle (on Access 4 every second and fourth Thursday
each month at PM).
Note: due to size of video files we are unable to keep a large archive available on-line. Therefore, look for frequent rotations of available show clips. If you are looking for a clip from a particular program, please e-mail. We will try to accomodate your requests. All QuickTime movies are zipped to be as accomodating to pc users as I can be. I have included a shareware unzipping utility here for mac users (stuffed and binhexed) in case you do not have one.

We recently entered episode #4 of Blowing the Whistle ("Winterfest Fiasco"), in a video competition (it will be June before we know the results). This episode received quite a bit of attention from the community and we believe it really illustrates community unity in organizing around an issue. Here is the story in a nutshell: a large drive through Christmas light show threatened to negatively impact a Springfield area park , river and adjacent nature preserve. The light show was scheduled for the next five years in Riverside Park. Even though the show was in the park for December 1997, thanks to public awareness and outrage a successful campaign was waged against the light show and the contract for the future shows has been cancelled.
